Friday rewind: Breaking up in the ’80s with guest Deborah Foreman

Few Stuck in the ’80s podcasts have as many fans as this infamous episode: the official “Breaking Up in the ’80s” show with special guest Deborah Foreman. The show was recorded a week after Spearsy was dumped by the villainous “Vegas Girlfriend” and the pain was still pretty fresh.

The show was originally conceived to be a memorial to the best “break-up” movie scenes and songs from the ’80s. But in the middle of the despair of planning the show, a thought emerged: Why not try to get a guest on the show to break up the depression? Spearsy sent an email to Deborah and the rest is history.

To those wondering if Spearsy’s luck with women has changed over the years, the answer is still “hell no.” He’s just been smart enough to keep the stories of the craziest women – and there have been a few – to himself nowadays.

Thompson Twins frontman Tom Bailey has been added to the 2017 lineup of The ’80s Cruise, the legendary time machine back to a better, kinder and cooler decade.

Bailey came out of early retirement a few years ago and has been performing the hits from the Thompson Twins around the world. Frankly, he’s amazing. Simple as that. If you were looking for one more sign from above that you’re supposed to go on this trip, this is certainly it.

New podcast: A talk with The ’80s Cruise’s Dane Butcher

I can’t imagine how tough a job it is to be the cruise director of The ’80s Cruise, but Dane Butcher handles it with precision and humor. The Aussie-turned-Vegas-living Dane is “the man” behind all the fun during your week at sea, hosting Q&A’s with the artists, announcing upcoming events and serving as emcee over all the mayhem. We had a chance to chat with Dane recently about his memories of the 2016 version of the ’80s Cruise and to get a sneak preview for what he has planned for 2017.

This show also includes full seggies and a new finale idea we’re trying out. Enjoy.
